Inspired by a true story of con artists and hustlers, "Six Degrees of Separation" is an hilarious exploration of the threads of chance that link one person to another. When an intelligent and articulate young black man shows up on their doorstep

bleeding from a knife would and claiming to be the son of Sidney Poitier, an upper-class New York couple is completely charmed - and completely taken in. The young man speaks eloquently, helps seal an important business deal, and makes a terrific plate of pasta. Only later do they realize that he's a fraud - or is he? A jittery urban comedy that blends an identity-bending mystery with a witty and keen social satire, John Guare's "Six Degrees of Separation" was the winner of the New York Drama Critics Circle Award and London's 1993 Olivier Award for Best Play.

The 17-person cast of The Barn Theatre's production of "Six Degrees of Separation" features Jeff Foote (of Wharton) as Paul, Scott M. Jacoby of (West Orange) as Flan Kittredge, and Marguerite Wurtz (of New Providence) as Oiusa Kittredge.

The Barn Theatre is located at the end of Skyline Drive in Montville, just minutes off Exit 47 of Route 287.

For reservations, call The Barn Theatre Box Office at (973) 334-9320 -- more information on the play and the theatre can be found at The Barn's website: http://www.barntheatre.org
