MONTVILLE -  Martin McDonagh's dark and bitingly funny award winning play "The Beauty Queen of Leenane" will be presented at The Barn Theatre in Montville from March 8 through March 23, 2002, show times are 8:00pm on Fridays and Saturdays and 3:00pm on Sundays. Award for outstanding play, "The Beauty Queen of  Leenane" has been hailed by critics and audiences across the globe. Set  in the

mountains of Connemara, County Galway, "The Beauty Queen of Leenane" is a domestic story spiked with Irish humor and seat-gripping  suspense in which mother and daughter

engage in a bitter but hilarious battle of wills. It is the darkly comic tale of Maureen Folan, a plain and lonely woman in her early forties, and Mag, her manipulative aging mother, whose interference in Maureen's first and possibly final chance of a loving relationship sets in motion a train of events that leads towards the play's terrifying denouement. The Barn Theatre's production of "The Beauty Queen of Leenane" is directed by Bill Purdy and stars Colleen O'Connor of Morristown as Maureen Folan, Sandy Robertson

of Little Falls as Mag Folan, Michael O'Hagan of Montville as Pato Dooley and Paul Rivers of Rockaway as Ray Dooley. The Barn Theatre is located at the end of Skyline Drive  in Montville, just minutes off Exit 47 of Route 287.
