Morris Catholic senior cheerleaders (L-R), Lauren Truppo, Erin Shipley and Sara Hauptman, are off to Miami to join the National Cheerleader Association's "All-American Team."

Denville - Three members of the Morris Catholic HS varsity cheerleading team are headed for Miami, Florida and the Federal Express Orange Bowl to perform with the National Cheerleader Association's  "All-American Team."  Seniors, Sara Hauptman of Cedar Knolls, Erin Shipley of Denville and Lauren Truppo of Morris Plains, will represent Morris Catholic as members of the All-American Team that includes high school cheerleaders from all over the country.  The Orange Bowl will be televised by ABC Sports on Wednesday, Jan. 2nd, at 8 PM, EST.  This year's Orange Bowl game pits the University of Maryland Terrapins against the Florida State Gators.
Nominations and selections for this prestigious distinction were made following the girls' participation an NCA summer camp held at Rutgers University in July.  Cheerleaders were evaluated on the presentation of their skills in the areas of jumps, motion, dance and stunting.  Their enthusiasm and leadership qualities were also considered in the selection process. They will be among 177 cheerleaders who will be featured at the Orange Bowl.  The NCA also offers cheerleaders and their families the opportunity to participate in special pre-game Orange Bowl festivities.
