YANKEES TOP CARDINALS
Sunday September 2, 2001 in NY-Penn League action at Skylands Park in Augusta, New Jersey, the Staten
Island Yankees (New York Yankees) defeated the New Jersey Cardinals (St. Louis Cardinals) by a score of 4-2. The win improves the Yankees record to 47-26 and drops the Cardinals to 33-40.
Righty Jason
Anderson picked up the win for the Yankees, raising his record to 5-1. Corey Mattison took the loss for the Cardinals, dropping his record to 5-7. Ryan Clark worked the 9th inning to pick up his 7th save of the season.
This game concluded the Cardinals home schedule. The team finished with a 20-18 home record. The Cardinals finish the 2001 season with three games in Mahoning Valley against the Scrappers (Cleveland Indians).
