Cardinals Over Cyclones 3-0

Augusta - On Saturday June 30, 2001 the New Jersey Cardinals hosted the Brooklyn Cyclones at Skylands Park in Augusta, NJ. The Cardinals won. NEW JERSEY OVER BROOKLYN

June 30, 2001 in NY-Penn League action at Skylands Park in Augusta, New Jersey, the New Jersey Cardinals defeated the Brooklyn Cyclones, 3-0, in front of a crowd of 4,957. The win over Brooklyn improves the Cardinals record to 7-5 on the season.

Cardinals' catcher, Dan Moylan had a multiple-hit game for New Jersey. Designated hitter, Billy Schmitt as well as outfielder Jordan Robison, left-fielder Jesse Roman, shortstop Santos DeLosSantos and right-fielder Jeff Jones, all pitched in with hits. Robison and Roman each completed the night with a double.

First-year pitcher, Aaron Russelburg fired six scoreless innings scattering six hits with two strikeouts for the win. Russelburg improved to 2-0 with the victory.

The New Jersey Cardinals will be back at home at Skylands Park on Thursday, July 5th vs. the Hudson Valley Renegades. Following the game there will be a massive fireworks display sponsored by Coors.
