Civil War Encampment At Cooper Mill

Chester Twp. - On Saturday September 29, 2001; the 33rd NJ Infantry Regiment and the 11th NJ Volunteers re-enacted what camp life was like during the Civil War. The two groups dressed in period uniforms, discussed military life, displayed equipment, erected tents, and demonstrated use and care of a musket. Chester Twp. - On Saturday September 29, 2001; the 33rd NJ Infantry Regiment and the 11th NJ Volunteers reenacted what camp life was like during the Civil War. The two groups dressed in period uniforms, discussed military life, displayed basic equipment, erected tents, and demonstrated the use and care of a musket. (below) In a more serious moment during the reenactment Doug Grunn, of Belvedere, a member of the 33rd played Taps on the bugle during a moment of silence for the September 11th victims and families.
