Terrence McNally's
"It's Only A Play"

to be performed at

The Barn Theatre in Montville, NJ

"It's Only A Play" will be presented at The Barn Theatre in Montville from September 7 through September 22, 2001 at 8:00pm on Fridays and Saturdays and at 3:00pm on Sundays. Ticket price is $15; tickets for senior citizens and students are $14 on Sunday performances only.

Written by Terrence McNally (author of "Love! Valour!, Compassion!" and "Lips Together, Teeth Apart"), "It's Only A Play" is an hilarious send-up of show business and its often bizarre practitioners, using the occasion of an opening night party for what turns out to be a disastrous Broadway play to pile one wildly funny comic sequence upon another. As celebrities pour in to the party thrown in the Manhattan townhouse the Broadway show's wealthy producer, the real action occurs upstairs where a group of insiders have staked themselves out in the producer's bedroom, waiting for the reviews. But as the reviews for the show (all bad, of course) start coming in, evening begins grows steadily cattier -- and funnier -- as those assembled seek desperately to pin the blame on each other. The Barn Theatre's production of " It's Only A Play" is directed by Jeff Knapp and stars Patrick Field, Jeanmarie Garver, Hank Gundersen, Carla Kendall, Evan Kilianski, Thomas Kitson, Brian Marshall and Barbara Neff. [Note: This show contains adult language.]

The Barn Theatre is located at the end of Skyline Drive in Montville. For reservations, call The Barn Theatre Box Office at (973) 334-9320 -- more information on the play and the theatre can be found at The Barn's website: http://www.barntheatre.org
