Medal Awards Ceremony

Morristown - On Monday June 25, 2001 A representative from the New Jersey Department of Military and Veterans Affairs will present the medals to the recipients, who are all residents of New Jersey and have been a resident of the State at the time of their service. (right) Col. Ken Hislop, Deputy Adjunct US Army General presents Robert Ward Bensley, of Morris Township with The Distinguished Service Medal Award. Bensley served under General Patton during the Normandy Invasion and was awarded the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. In background is Senator Anthony R. Bucco.

Morristown - Senator Anthony R. Bucco (R-Morris) honored 23 Morris County veterans with New Jersey Distinguished Service Medals. The ceremony took place  10:00am at the Morristown Green Park, located in the heart of the shopping district in Morristown. (left) Leslie Bensley with her father-in-law Robert Ward Bensley, of Morris Township received the Distinguished Service Medal Award. Bensley served under General Patton during the Normandy Invasion and was awarded the Bronze Star and Purple Heart.
