CARDINALS FALL TO TIGERS

The New Jersey Cardinals fell to the Oneonta Tigers (Detroit) by a score of 3-1 at Skylands Park in front of 3,064 fans.

Starter Chet Medlock took the loss, his first of the year, as he yielded 3 runs, 1 earned, on 7 hits in 4.2 innings of work. He collected 5 strikeouts and walked 4. Reliever Shawn Hannah got the win for Oneonta after hurling 4.1 scoreless innings while striking out 3.

The Cardinals jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the third after Matt Galante singled and was brought home on a two-out double by Matt Ortiz.

However, the Tigers put up a three spot in the fifth to take the lead for good. David Leer, who led the Oneonta offense with 3 hits, reached on a fielder's choice. Mark Moccia and Hugh Quattlebaum followed with singles. Forrest Johnson contributed an RBI single in the winning cause and a run scored on a Landon Brandes error.
