Carving Wood In The Swamp

Chatham - Woodcarver Jack Fuller, of Gillette, displays a box he carved out of several diffrent kinds of wood.

The Great Swamp Outdoor Education Center, held a woodcarving class on Saturday November 4, 2000. Participants had to bring their own pocket knife and were taught safety first, wood characteristics then basic carving techniques by woodcarver Jack Fuller.

Chatham - The Great Swamp Outdoor Education center held a woodcarving class on Saturday November 4, 2000. The class was presented by woodcarver Jack Fuller, of Gillette.  (left) Jerry Melin, of Long Valley, saws off a piece of cherry wood for the inlay on his carving.
